John Kimball Scott III (born October 30, 1995) is an American football punter who played college football at the University of Alabama under head coach Nick Saban, helping the Crimson Tide win national championships in 2015 and 2017 while earning All-American honors. He was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round (172nd overall) of the 2018 NFL draft, but was released in August 2021 after three seasons with the team. Following a brief stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Scott joined the Los Angeles Chargers in March 2022, where he played until his release on August 30, 2026. With the Chargers, he twice earned AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors—in Week 12 of 2022 and Week 13 of 2023—for his exceptional punting performances. Over his NFL career, Scott has maintained consistent punting averages, finishing the 2025 season with a career-best 47.9-yard average. Off the field, Scott married his wife Sydney in January 2018, and the couple welcomed their son in November 2018.
