Mason Taylor (born May 8, 2004) is a professional football tight end for the New York Jets, carrying on a legendary football lineage as the son of Hall of Fame defensive end Jason Taylor. He starred at LSU, where his most memorable moment came as a freshman in 2022 when he caught the game-winning two-point conversion against Alabama, snapping a decade-long home losing streak to the Crimson Tide. Drafted in the second round (42nd overall) of the 2025 NFL draft, Taylor made an immediate impact for the Jets, scoring his first career touchdown on a four-yard pass from running back Breece Hall in a thrilling 39-38 win over the Bengals. He finished his rookie season with 44 receptions for 369 yards and a touchdown across 13 games before a neck injury forced him onto injured reserve on January 3, 2026. Beyond his father, his family includes television host Joy Taylor and Hall of Fame linebacker Zach Thomas as his aunt and uncle, respectively.
