Tyrell Shavers (born in 1999) is a professional wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills who took an unconventional path to the NFL, playing college football at Alabama, Mississippi State, and San Diego State. At San Diego State, he became a special teams star, tying the program record with three blocked punts and earning second-team All-Mountain West honors in 2022 after a career-best season. Undrafted in 2023, he signed with the Bills, and after bouncing between the practice squad and active roster, he made his NFL debut in 2024 and scored his first touchdown on a spectacular 69-yard screen pass from Mitchell Trubisky in Week 17. In 2025, Shavers finally secured his first spot on the initial 53-man roster and had a breakout game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, catching four passes for 90 yards and a touchdown from Josh Allen. Unfortunately, his promising season ended prematurely when he tore his ACL during a punt return in the Wild Card Round against the Jacksonville Jaguars, forcing him onto injured reserve.
