Fenerbahçe Basketball, based in Istanbul, Turkey, is a historic powerhouse founded in 1913 as the first basketball team established within a sports club in the Ottoman Empire (re-established in its current form in 1944). The club has achieved remarkable success, becoming the first Turkish team to win the EuroLeague (with titles in 2017 and 2025), alongside 16 Turkish championships, 10 Turkish Cups, and 8 Presidential Cups. A unique global feat includes being the only Turkish club to defeat an NBA team, notably beating the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center in 2015—the first Turkish win on US soil. With 8 EuroLeague Final Four appearances (2015–2019, 2024–2026), they hold a record for Turkish basketball and are the only Turkish Super League team to achieve a Triple Crown, currently ranking 1st in Europe. The team, now known as Fenerbahçe Tarfin for sponsorship, plays at the Ülker Sports and Event Hall and has featured legendary figures like coach Željko Obradović and stars such as Nando De Colo and Jan Veselý.
