Joshua Dobbs, nicknamed "the Passtronaut," is an American football quarterback for the Detroit Lions, born on January 26, 1995, who was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL draft after playing college football at Tennessee. Over his career, he has been a member of nine NFL teams, notably starting for the Titans, Cardinals, Vikings, and 49ers, as well as suiting up for the Jaguars and Patriots. Growing up in Alpharetta, Georgia, Dobbs began playing football at age five and earned the Franklin D. Watkins Memorial Trophy as a high school senior for being the top African-American athlete in the nation, while also managing alopecia areata (an autoimmune condition causing hair loss). At Tennessee, he made his first start as a true freshman in 2013 and had a breakout sophomore season in 2014, throwing for 301 yards and rushing for 166 yards in a comeback win over South Carolina, also leading the Volunteers to their first bowl game since 2010 and winning MVP of the 2015 TaxSlayer Bowl.
