Moses Itauma (born 28 December 2004) is a British professional boxer who currently holds the Commonwealth heavyweight title, having won it in 2025. Born in Kežmarok, Slovakia, to a Nigerian father and Slovak mother, he moved to Chatham, Kent at age three after his family faced racism, and he was later inspired to box by his older brother Karol—though he briefly quit for football before returning to the sport. As an amateur, he went unbeaten with 24 wins, claimed gold at the Youth World Championships, and famously sparred world champion Lawrence Okolie while still in his school uniform at age 16. Turning pro in January 2023, he made headlines with rapid knockouts, winning the WBO Intercontinental title in May 2024 and stopping Demsey McKean in December 2024, earning The Ring magazine's Prospect of the Year award. In 2025, he knocked out Mike Balogun and is set to face former title challenger Dillian Whyte in Riyadh on 16 August—a fight Whyte chose over rematches with Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker. Though he once dreamed of breaking Mike Tyson's record as the youngest heavyweight champion, he now focuses on his meteoric rise through the ranks.
