Wade Meckler (born April 21, 2000) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Los Angeles Angels, having previously made his MLB debut with the San Francisco Giants in 2023. Growing up in Yorba Linda, California, he was a remarkably undersized high school freshman (4'10", 75 lbs) who received no Division I scholarship offers despite posting a 4.4 GPA and a strong senior season. He walked on at Oregon State University, was cut after his freshman year, but rejoined the team in 2021 to become an All-Pac-12 First Team selection in 2022, batting .347 with a conference-leading 81 runs and 23 doubles. Drafted by the Giants in the eighth round of the 2022 MLB draft for a below-slot bonus, he rapidly climbed the minor leagues with batting averages above .300 at every level.
