Jacoby Brissett (born December 11, 1992) is an American football quarterback who currently plays for the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL. After playing college football at the University of Florida and NC State, he was drafted by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft, notably negotiating his own rookie contract without an agent. During his rookie season, he made history as the first African-American quarterback to start for the Patriots, filling in for an injured Jimmy Garoppolo and even scoring a 27-yard touchdown run, though a thumb injury later sidelined him for their Super Bowl LI victory. He was then traded to the Indianapolis Colts, where he served as the primary starter in 2017 and 2019. Over the next four seasons, Brissett bounced between roles as a starter and backup for the Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns, Washington Commanders, and Patriots before joining the Cardinals in 2025.
