Drew Brees (born January 15, 1979, in Dallas) was an NFL quarterback for 20 seasons, most famously with the New Orleans Saints, where he established himself as one of the greatest passers in history. He retired second all-time in career passing yards, touchdowns, and completions, and holds the record for consecutive games with a touchdown pass, breaking Johnny Unitas's 52-year-old mark. After a decorated college career at Purdue (winning the Maxwell Award in 2000) and a breakout 2004 season with the San Diego Chargers that earned him Comeback Player of the Year, Brees joined the Saints in 2006. There, he led the franchise to its first Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XLIV (winning MVP) and transformed a historically losing team into a consistent contender, earning 13 Pro Bowl selections and seven league passing yard titles. He retired after the 2020 season, worked as an NBC analyst and interim Purdue coach, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2026.
