Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) is a powerhouse NASCAR team founded in 1992 by Pro Football Hall of Fame coach Joe Gibbs and his son J.D. Gibbs, who co-ran it until his passing in 2019. The organization has captured five Cup Series championships, four Xfinity titles, and one ARCA crown, initially winning in GM cars before switching to Toyota in 2008—a move that delivered Toyota its first premier-series title in 2015 with Kyle Busch. Today, JGR fields four full-time Cup entries (Nos. 11, 19, 20, 54) driven by Denny Hamlin, Chase Briscoe, Christopher Bell, and Ty Gibbs. Renowned for its driver development, the team groomed future stars like Joey Logano and Bubba Wallace, and in 2004 partnered with Reggie White to launch a diversity initiative that helped shape NASCAR's Drive for Diversity program. More recently, JGR forged a technical alliance with 23XI Racing in 2021 and sold minority stakes to Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment and Arctos Partners in 2023, solidifying its modern business footprint.
