2026 Leagues Cup

The 2026 Leagues Cup is the ongoing sixth edition of the North American club soccer tournament, running from August 4 to September 6, 2026, and features 36 teams—18 from Major League Soccer (MLS) and all 18 from Liga MX. Seattle Sounders FC are the defending champions, having defeated Inter Miami CF 3–0 in the 2025 final, and this edition notably marks the first time matches are hosted in Mexico. The tournament uses a "Phase One" group stage where all games are cross-league (MLS vs. Liga MX), with the top four teams from each league advancing to a knockout phase of quarterfinals, semifinals, and a final. A unique points system awards three points for a regulation win, two for a shootout win, and one for a shootout loss, with tiebreakers including goal difference and fair play. The top three finishers earn spots in the 2027 CONCACAF Champions Cup, with the finalists qualifying directly and the third-place winner taking the final seed.
