Richard Childress Racing (RCR) is a prominent American stock car racing team based in Welcome, North Carolina, owned by Richard Childress with a 40% stake held by Chartwell Investments. The team currently fields Chevrolet Camaro ZL1s in the NASCAR Cup Series (No. 3 for Austin Dillon and No. 33 for Austin Hill) and four trucks in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, while holding the longest active streak of qualifying for every Cup race since 1972 and famously using the number 3. RCR has won the Cup Series championship six times, all with the legendary Dale Earnhardt, and has claimed the Daytona 500 three times—with Earnhardt (1998), Kevin Harvick (2007), and Austin Dillon (2018). Beyond its in-house teams, RCR maintains technical alliances with Rick Ware Racing, Big Machine Racing, Jordan Anderson Racing, and Viking Motorsports, and has fielded cars for notable drivers like Jeff Burton, Clint Bowyer, and Kyle Busch. In the truck series, RCR made history when Mike Skinner won the inaugural race and first championship in 1995, and the program was later revived by Richard's grandson, Austin Dillon, who returned in 2009 and secured a win in 2010.
