Real Estelí Fútbol Club is a professional football club from Estelí, Nicaragua, competing in the country's top division, the Campeonato Nacional de Fútbol de Primera División, and playing its home games at the Estadio Independencia. Known as El Tren del Norte (Train of the North), the club was founded in 1960 and has become a powerhouse, holding the second-most national championships in Nicaragua—trailing only Diriangén—and setting a CONCACAF record with eight consecutive titles from 2006 to 2014. After early successes in the late 1990s and a pivotal 2002–2003 title win over rivals Diriangén, the club dominated the new Apertura/Clausura format, winning both tournaments in 2003–2004. Internationally, Real Estelí made history in 2004 as the first Nicaraguan team to advance in the Copa Interclubes UNCAF, and in 2023 they reached the final of the CONCACAF Central American Cup—defeating Costa Rican giants Saprissa along the way—before falling to Alajuelense. In the 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup, they earned a historic 2–1 home victory over seven-time champions Club América, marking their first win in that competition in 31 matches. The club's crest features a royal crown, symbolizing the "Real" in its name, and two gold stars representing its first two national titles.
