Verdes F.C., founded in 1976 as Real Verdes and based in Benque Viejo, Belize, is one of the country's oldest and most successful professional football clubs, playing its home games at Norman Broaster Stadium. Domestically, the club has won 10 Premier League of Belize championships, including an undefeated sweep of both the 2021–22 seasons, and is renowned for developing numerous Belize national team players. Internationally, Verdes made history in 1985 as the first Belizean team to compete in the CONCACAF Champions' Cup and has since represented Belize more than any other club, facing top regional sides like Cruz Azul and Comunicaciones. In the CONCACAF League, they became the first Belizean club to win a competitive series in 2022, though their 2020 attempt was thwarted by a COVID-19 outbreak that forced a quarantine in Panama. A notable low point came on 20 August 2025, when they suffered their heaviest defeat, an 8–1 loss to Costa Rica's Cartaginés. Despite these ups and downs, Verdes F.C. remains a dominant force in Belizean football, most recently adding the 2025–26 Closing season title to their impressive trophy cabinet.
