"Frontier Psychiatrist" is a 2000 single by Australian electronic group The Avalanches, released on 21 August 2000 as the second single from their debut album Since I Left You. Produced by Robbie Chater and Darren Seltmann, the track is a masterclass in sampling, weaving together vocal snippets from a Wayne and Shuster comedy sketch, an orchestral loop from Enoch Light's 1968 version of "My Way of Life", and uncredited gems from Sesame Street and the Lawrence of Arabia theme. It became their first commercial hit, peaking at number 18 on the UK Singles Chart and number 49 in Australia, and was lauded by critics for its playful, inventive turntablism and fresh take on found sounds. The song's closing mariachi band plays "El Negro Zumbón" from the 1951 film Anna, and its quirky charm earned it a mention in Nick Hornby's book Songbook.
