Adam Jones (born August 1, 1985) was a standout American center fielder who played 14 MLB seasons for the Seattle Mariners, Baltimore Orioles, and Arizona Diamondbacks, plus two seasons in Japan's NPB with the Orix Buffaloes. A San Diego native who didn't pick up a bat until age 12, he was drafted by the Mariners in the first round of the 2003 MLB draft, made his MLB debut in 2006, and was traded to Baltimore before the 2008 season. With the Orioles, Jones blossomed into a five-time All-Star, four-time Gold Glove winner, and Silver Slugger, while setting the franchise record for most games played in center field. He also won the Marvin Miller Man of the Year Award in 2015 and helped Team USA capture the 2017 World Baseball Classic title. After his MLB career, he finished with two seasons in Japan, capping a career defined by athleticism, defensive excellence, and consistent offensive production.
