The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is a remastered compilation released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2011 (and PlayStation Vita in 2012), featuring Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 on all platforms, with Peace Walker added to the home console versions. Developed primarily by Bluepoint Games, the collection upgrades the classics to 720p resolution and 60 frames per second, while adding Trophy and Achievement support, plus platform-specific control tweaks (like touch-screen menus on the Vita). It preserves most bonus content from the original "Substance" and "Subsistence" editions, including VR missions and the classic Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake games. A unique "Transfarring" feature lets players transfer saves between the PS3 and Vita versions. Notably, the Japanese release split the collection, offering only MGS2 and 3 in one package while selling Peace Walker separately, and used Japanese voice acting throughout.
