John Goodman (born June 20, 1952) is a celebrated American actor renowned for his powerful presence across film, television, and stage, earning a Primetime Emmy, a Golden Globe, and a 2013 Disney Legends honor, with Vanity Fair praising him as "among our very finest actors." He became a household name as patriarch Dan Conner on the hit sitcom Roseanne (1988–1997, 2018) and its spin-off The Conners (2018–2025), a role that brought him seven Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe. His film career is highlighted by iconic collaborations with the Coen brothers in Raising Arizona, The Big Lebowski, and O Brother, Where Art Thou?, alongside leading roles in The Flintstones and King Ralph, as well as beloved voice work in Pixar's Monsters, Inc. franchise and Disney's The Emperor's New Groove.
