Renaissance is the debut album by the English progressive rock band of the same name, released in November 1969. Formed by ex-Yardbirds members Keith Relf and Jim McCarty, the album set the template for the band's future work, blending progressive rock with folk, classical, and jazz influences. Produced by Paul Samwell-Smith and recorded at Olympic Studios, it achieved moderate success, peaking at number 60 on the UK album charts. The album has seen notable reissues, including a 1998 version titled Innocence that featured rare demos and Keith Relf's final 1976 recording, as well as a 2010 remastered edition. Although a retrospective review called it "a little clunky by today's standards," it was groundbreaking for its era, and the supporting tour proved more popular in Germany than in the US.
