Robert Gronkowski (born May 14, 1989), nicknamed "Gronk," is a retired NFL tight end who played 11 seasons—nine for the New England Patriots and his final two with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Regarded as one of the greatest tight ends in football history, he won four Super Bowls (XLIX, LIII, LV, and LIII) and earned five Pro Bowl selections, a place on the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team, and the NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team. After a standout two-year college career at the University of Arizona (where he averaged 18.8 yards per reception), he was drafted in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft and quickly became a pillar of the Patriots' dynasty. He set multiple league records, including being the first tight end to lead the NFL in receiving touchdowns (17 in 2011) and holds Super Bowl records for most receptions and receiving yards at his position. His athletic pedigree runs deep—his great-grandfather competed in the 1924 Olympics, and all four of his brothers played professional sports.
