Pirates (2005) is a high-budget pornographic action-adventure film directed by Joone and produced by Digital Playground and Adam & Eve, starring Jesse Jane, Evan Stone, and Carmen Luvana, among others. It heavily parodies the Hollywood blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and was reported to be the most expensive porn film of its time, with a budget exceeding $1 million. The plot follows Captain Edward Reynolds (Evan Stone) as he hunts the villainous Captain Victor Stagnetti, after rescuing Isabella (Carmen Luvana) and seeking a powerful secret map. Shot in high-definition with over 300 special effects shots, an original score, and scenes filmed on a replica of HMS Bounty in Florida, it was released as a three-disc DVD set and later as an R-rated version on July 11, 2006. A sequel, Pirates II: Stagnetti's Revenge, released on September 26, 2008, had an even larger $8 million budget, making it the most expensive porn film ever produced. The original set a record by winning 11 AVN Awards and was hailed by RogReviews as "the most talked about adult movie of the year."
