Zheng Qinwen

Zheng Qinwen (born 8 October 2002) is a Chinese professional tennis player who reached a career-high world No. 4 ranking in June 2025, making her only the second Chinese woman after Li Na to break into the top 5. Her most historic achievement came at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she won the gold medal in singles, becoming the first Asian tennis player ever to do so. Across her career, she has won five WTA singles titles, including back-to-back Palermo Ladies Open titles (2023 and 2024) and the 2024 Pan Pacific Open. She also reached two major finals in 2024, finishing as runner-up at the Australian Open to Aryna Sabalenka and at the WTA Finals to Coco Gauff. Starting tennis at age seven, she moved to Wuhan for advanced coaching and later trained under Carlos Rodríguez, the former coach of Justine Henin and Li Na, before turning professional in 2018.
