Cody Bellinger (born July 13, 1995) is an MLB outfielder and first baseman for the New York Yankees, having previously played for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs. The son of MLB veteran Clay Bellinger, he made headlines at age 11 by playing in the 2007 Little League World Series before being drafted by the Dodgers in 2013 and debuting in 2017. He quickly became a superstar, winning NL Rookie of the Year in 2017, the NL MVP in 2019, and a World Series title with the Dodgers in 2020. After a severe injury-plagued 2021 season derailed his career, the Dodgers non-tendered him, but he revived his career with the Cubs, earning NL Comeback Player of the Year in 2023. Traded to the Yankees in 2024, he earned his third All-Star nod and was named All-Star Game MVP in 2026.
