Jeanine Ferris Pirro (born June 2, 1951) is a prominent American attorney, author, and former television host who currently serves as the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, a role she was sworn into in May 2025 and confirmed in August 2025. Raised in Elmira, New York, by Lebanese-American parents, she made history as the first woman elected to both the Westchester County Court (1990) and as Westchester County District Attorney (1993), where she became known for her aggressive prosecution of domestic violence and crimes against the elderly. After an unsuccessful bid for New York Attorney General in 2006, she transitioned to media, hosting Judge Jeanine Pirro and Justice with Judge Jeanine on Fox News, and later co-hosting The Five from 2022 to 2025.
