Jeremy Ylvisaker is a Minneapolis-based multi-instrumentalist best known for his work in the indie rock bands Alpha Consumer and The Cloak Ox. With Alpha Consumer, he released albums including Kick Drugs Out of America (2011), while The Cloak Ox gained recognition with their debut EP Prisen (2011), which helped them win the City Pages "Picked to Click" poll that same year. In the mid-2000s, he toured extensively as a guitarist in Andrew Bird's band alongside drummer Martin Dosh and bassist Michael Lewis. Beyond his bands, Ylvisaker has a rich solo discography, featuring albums like Welcome to Christmastown (2008) and Malibu Hymnal (2017). Additionally, he is a prolific session contributor, having played on records by artists such as Dosh, Mark Mallman, Haley Bonar, and Eyedea and Abilities.
