The AMA Supercross Championship, commercially known as Monster Energy AMA Supercross, is a popular American motorcycle racing series founded by the American Motorcyclist Association in 1974. This exciting variant of motocross features off-road motorcycles tackling constructed dirt tracks with steep jumps and obstacles, usually within sports stadiums, which boosted its spectator appeal in the U.S. by the late 1970s. The term "Supercross" itself was coined after the groundbreaking 1972 "Super Bowl of Motocross" race in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, famously won by 16-year-old Marty Tripes.

From 2002 to 2021, the series held World Championship status, showcasing its global prominence. Starting in 2023, it will integrate into the new SuperMotocross World Championship, combining with AMA Motocross. Annually running from January through early May, the championship crowns winners in 450cc and 250cc (East/West) divisions, offering thrilling competition.
