Baekho (born Kang Dong-ho on July 21, 1995, in Jeju, South Korea) is a singer-songwriter, record producer, and musical theatre actor best known as the powerful main vocalist of the boy group NU'EST, with which he debuted on March 15, 2012. In 2014, he suffered a career-threatening vocal fold injury requiring surgery, but he fully recovered by 2016 and subsequently became a major music producer for the group. Competing on the hit survival show Produce 101 Season 2 in 2017, his viral "megaton bomb" line and stable vocals earned him the nickname "sexy bandit," yet he controversially placed 13th and missed joining Wanna One. His elimination was later exposed as fraudulent—the Seoul High Court revealed in November 2020 that show producers had directly manipulated the votes to swap him out of the final lineup. After promoting with the sub-unit NU'EST W, he launched his solo career in October 2022 with the EP Absolute Zero. Known for his exceptional vocals, sculpted physique, and resilience against industry injustice, Baekho has solidified his reputation as the "Sexy Icon" of his generation.
