Braves Field was a historic baseball park in Boston, Massachusetts, whose site is now home to Nickerson Field on the campus of Boston University. It served as the home of the Boston Braves from 1915 until 1952, hosting the 1936 MLB All-Star Game and the 1948 World Series, and was notably the setting for Babe Ruth's final season in 1935. The stadium also witnessed the longest major league game in history on May 1, 1920—a 26-inning marathon that ended in a 1–1 tie. Beyond baseball, it was a pioneering football venue, serving as the first home of the NFL franchise that later became the Washington Commanders (as the Boston Braves in 1932) and hosting the Boston Patriots of the AFL from 1960 to 1962. Opened on August 18, 1915, at a cost of $600,000 and built with roughly 750 tons of steel and 8 million pounds of concrete, the park was mostly demolished in 1955, though significant original portions still stand within the Nickerson Field sports complex today.
