Jeffery Simmons Jr. (born July 28, 1997) is an American football defensive tackle for the Tennessee Titans, who starred at Mississippi State as a five-star prospect before being selected 19th overall in the 2019 NFL Draft. Despite tearing his ACL in February 2019, just months before the draft, he was still picked by the Titans and, after recovering, made his NFL debut in October 2019—finishing his rookie year with 32 tackles and two sacks. He made a strong playoff impression in 2019, helping the Titans defeat the Patriots and Ravens before falling to the eventual Super Bowl champion Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. In the 2020 season, Simmons earned AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors in Week 9 after forcing a fumble and recovery against the Bears, and he also spent time on the COVID-19 list mid-season. With consistent tackling, sacks, and forced turnovers, Simmons has established himself as a cornerstone of the Titans' defense.
