George Russell (born 15 February 1998) is a British Formula One racing driver currently competing for Mercedes, where he has secured seven Grand Prix victories. After a dominant junior career that included back-to-back titles in the GP3 Series and FIA Formula 2 Championship, he made his F1 debut with Williams in 2019. Russell's breakthrough came in 2022 when he joined Mercedes, achieving his maiden pole position and race win at the São Paulo Grand Prix. He has since added victories in Austria, Las Vegas, Canada, and Singapore, while also making history in 2024 as the first driver in 30 years to be disqualified from a race win. As of the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix, he has amassed 7 wins, 11 pole positions, and 30 podiums, and is contracted with Mercedes through the end of the 2026 season.
