Dominique Malonga (born 8 January 1989) is a French striker of Congolese heritage who currently plays for Icelandic club Þór Akureyri. Growing up in the suburbs of Paris, he was a Monaco fan and joined their youth academy before moving to Italy in 2007 to play for Torino. After a transfer to Cesena costing €2.15 million, his career became a series of loans, including a standout spell at Vicenza where he scored 10 goals. From 2014 to 2016, he played for Scottish side Hibernian, scoring a hat-trick against Dumbarton and helping the club end a 114-year wait for the Scottish Cup in 2016. His journey then took him through clubs in Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Greece, Canada, and Bulgaria. Across his career, Malonga has played for over a dozen teams in eight different countries, making him a true journeyman of professional football.
