Mickey Gasper is an American professional baseball catcher and first baseman who currently plays for the Boston Red Sox. After a standout college career at Bryant University, he was drafted by the New York Yankees in 2018, and finally made his MLB debut on August 12, 2024, at Fenway Park with the Red Sox. Traded to the Minnesota Twins in December 2024, he recorded his first career hit in March 2025 and his first career home run in August 2025 before being designated for assignment. Following a whirlwind of waiver claims—including a brief stop with the Washington Nationals—he was claimed back by the Red Sox on February 4, 2026, and optioned to Triple-A Worcester. A New Hampshire native who grew up as a Yankees fan, Gasper was also selected to represent Team Italy at the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
