William Jacob Bennett (born December 2, 2000) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, who made his MLB debut in 2026. A native of Bixby, Oklahoma, he was initially drafted in the 39th round of the 2019 MLB draft but chose to attend the University of Oklahoma, where he impressed as a starter with a 10–4 record and 133 strikeouts during his redshirt sophomore season. Selected by the Washington Nationals in the second round of the 2022 draft, he underwent Tommy John surgery in 2023, causing him to miss the entire 2024 campaign. After returning strongly in 2025, he was traded to the Boston Red Sox on December 15, 2025, in exchange for fellow pitching prospect Luis Perales. On May 1, 2026, Bennett was promoted to the majors and earned a victory in his debut against the Houston Astros at Fenway Park, allowing one earned run over five innings.
