Matthew Wilkinson (born December 10, 2002), nicknamed "Tugboat", is a Canadian professional baseball pitcher who made his MLB debut for the San Francisco Giants on August 19, 2026. He first gained national attention as a youth by striking out 16 batters in a single game during the 2015 Little League World Series. After high school in Alberta, he starred at Central Arizona College, earning the 2023 NJCAA D1 Pitcher of the Year award after posting a stunning 1.07 ERA with 138 strikeouts. The Cleveland Guardians drafted him in the 10th round of the 2023 MLB draft, and he climbed through their minor league system before being traded to the San Francisco Giants in May 2026 for catcher Patrick Bailey. Following ten starts in Triple-A Sacramento, he was called up and delivered a flawless major league debut, pitching two scoreless innings in relief.
