Phil Foden (born 28 May 2000) is an English midfielder and one of Manchester City's greatest academy products, having amassed over 300 appearances and 19 major honours, including a continental treble in the 2022–23 season. His rise was meteoric: in 2017, he won the FIFA U-17 World Cup Golden Ball and made his City debut the same year, later becoming the youngest recipient of a Premier League winner's medal in 2018. A record-breaker throughout his career, he is the youngest English player to start and score in a Champions League knockout match, and he claimed back-to-back Premier League Young Player of the Season awards in 2021 and 2022. His stellar form culminated in 2024, when he was named Premier League Player of the Season and the PFA Players' Player of the Year. On the international stage, Foden made his England senior debut in September 2020 and has since been a key figure at Euro 2020, the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and Euro 2024, cementing his place as a generational talent.
