Giancarlo Cruz-Michael Stanton (born November 8, 1989) is an American professional baseball designated hitter and outfielder for the New York Yankees, standing 6'6" and weighing 245 lbs. He is the Marlins' all-time home run leader and the only active MLB player with over 450 home runs, having debuted for the team in 2010 after being drafted in the second round of the 2007 MLB draft.

In 2014, he led the National League in home runs and signed a record-breaking $325 million, 13-year contract with Miami—the richest in team sports history at the time—before he hit an MLB-leading 59 home runs and won the 2017 NL MVP Award. Following that season, he was traded to the Yankees, where he has become a five-time All-Star and two-time Hank Aaron Award winner.

His most recent triumph came in 2024 when he earned ALCS MVP honors, powering the Yankees to their first American League pennant since 2009. Raised in Los Angeles with Irish, African-American, and Puerto Rican heritage, he was named after actors Giancarlo Giannini and Giancarlo Esposito, and his towering stature and power hitting have made him one of baseball's most fearsome sluggers.
