Youri Tielemans (born 7 May 1997) is a Belgian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Manchester United and captains the Belgium national team. He first made his name at Anderlecht, where he won two league titles, became the youngest Belgian to play in the UEFA Champions League at just 16, and was named the 2016-17 Belgian Professional Footballer of the Year. After a spell at Monaco, he joined Leicester City in 2019, famously scoring the only goal in the 2021 FA Cup final. In 2023, he moved to Aston Villa, where he made 134 appearances and won the UEFA Europa League in the 2025-26 season, before transferring to Manchester United in July 2026. Internationally, Tielemans debuted for Belgium in 2016 and has been a key figure at major tournaments, including helping his nation secure third place at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
