Nubia Technology Co., Ltd. is a Chinese smartphone manufacturer established in 2012 as a subsidiary of ZTE, later gaining independence in 2015 and receiving significant investment from Suning Holdings Group. The company boosted its profile in 2016 by sponsoring Jiangsu Suning F.C. and enlisting football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo as a brand ambassador. In 2018, Nubia launched its highly successful gaming sub-brand, REDMAGIC, which quickly became known for pioneering cooling fans inside its smartphones and introducing the first gaming phone with under-display camera technology in 2022.
REDMAGIC continued to innovate, releasing the "strongest gaming phone" with the Red Magic 8S Pro in 2023 and the Red Magic 9S Pro+ in 2024, which achieved the highest Antutu smartphone score to date. Expanding beyond smartphones, REDMAGIC diversified its product offerings in July 2024 by launching its first gaming laptop, the Titan 16 Pro, followed by the Nova gaming pad tablet in September, marking its entry into broader gaming hardware categories.
