Rose Diane Ladd (1935–2025) was a prolific American actress whose career spanned over 70 years and included more than 200 film and television appearances. She earned three Academy Award nominations, notably for Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (1974), Wild at Heart (1990), and Rambling Rose (1991), winning a BAFTA for the first and a Golden Globe for the sitcom Alice. Ladd also graced films like Chinatown, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and Joy.
Notably, Ladd made history with her daughter, Laura Dern, receiving dual Oscar nominations for Rambling Rose, a unique first for a mother-daughter duo. Alongside Dern and her ex-husband Bruce Dern, she received adjoining stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010.
