2024 Chicago White Sox season

The 2024 Chicago White Sox endured one of the most disastrous seasons in Major League Baseball history, finishing with a 41–121 (.253) record—the worst in the franchise's 125-year existence. Their struggles were immediate, starting with a 3–22 mark, and they suffered two separate 14+ game losing streaks, including a 21-game slide that was the first of its kind since the 1988 Baltimore Orioles, while also setting an MLB record for the most losses before the All-Star break (71). Manager Pedro Grifol was fired on August 8 after a 28–89 start, replaced by interim Grady Sizemore, but the tailspin continued. They were the first team eliminated from playoff contention in 2024, the fastest to reach 100 losses since the 1916 Philadelphia Athletics, and on September 27 they surpassed the 1962 New York Mets for the most losses in a modern MLB season, finishing with 121. Notably, they became the first team ever to lose at least one game to all 29 opposing clubs in a single year. Still, they ended on a relative high note, going 10–15 in September and winning 5 of their final 6 games, which kept their winning percentage barely above the infamous 1962 Mets.
