Al-Nassr Football Club, a Saudi Arabian powerhouse based in Riyadh founded in 1955, is one of only three clubs never relegated from the Saudi Pro League. Under the long-time leadership of Prince Abdul Rahman bin Saud Al Saud—affectionately known as the club's "Godfather"—Al-Nassr built its early dominance around the "Saudi Golden Trio" of Majed Abdullah, Fahd Al-Bishi, and Mohaisen Al-Jam'an, winning multiple league titles and cups in the 1970s and 1980s. In 2000, the club made history by becoming the first Asian team to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup in Brazil, earning the nickname "The Global One" and winning the FIFA Fair Play Award. After a period of decline in the early 2000s, the club revived in 2008, securing the 2008 Federation Cup and breaking a domestic transfer record by signing striker Mohammad Al-Sahlawi in 2009. The legendary striker Majed Abdullah retired in 1998 with 260 club goals—a record that stood until Abderrazak Hamdallah arrived—but the club's resilience and global legacy remain intact.
