Christopher Guest

Christopher Guest (born February 5, 1948) is an American-British actor, director, and comedian celebrated as a master of the mockumentary film genre. He co-wrote and starred in the legendary rock satire This Is Spinal Tap (1984) and went on to direct acclaimed comedies like Waiting for Guffman (1996), Best in Show (2000), and A Mighty Wind (2003). In addition to his directorial work, he delivered memorable performances in films such as The Princess Bride (1987) and A Few Good Men (1992), and was a regular on Saturday Night Live. Uniquely, he holds the hereditary title of 5th Baron Haden-Guest and served in the British House of Lords from 1996 until the 1999 reforms abolished his seat. Raised in New York, he studied music (even playing with Arlo Guthrie) before training at NYU, and he is married to actress Jamie Lee Curtis.
