Kyle Shanahan (born December 14, 1979) is the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, renowned for his offensive brilliance. He first gained national prominence as the Atlanta Falcons' offensive coordinator in 2016, when his unit led the NFL in scoring and propelled the team to Super Bowl LI. Taking over the 49ers in 2017, Shanahan has since guided the franchise to two Super Bowl appearances (LIV and LVIII), four NFC Championship games, and three division titles. The son of legendary coach Mike Shanahan, he played wide receiver at the University of Texas before launching his coaching career, which included a historic rise as the youngest offensive coordinator in NFL history with the Houston Texans in 2008. His early career also featured stints with UCLA, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and a four-year tenure with the Washington Redskins alongside his father.
