Burnin' Up (Jonas Brothers song)

Released on June 19, 2008, as the lead single from the Jonas Brothers' album A Little Bit Longer, Burnin' Up became the group's first top-five hit on the US Billboard Hot 100, debuting at number five and eventually selling 1.9 million copies. The track features uncredited rap verses from their bodyguard Robert "Big Rob" Feggans and was inspired by the band's appreciation for Prince, with Time magazine's Josh Tyrangiel naming it the sixth-best song of 2008, though critics noted its chorus resembled Maroon 5's Makes Me Wonder. Its action-packed music video, which premiered on Disney Channel right after Camp Rock on June 20, 2008, imagined the brothers as film stars in parodies like James Bond and a Kung Fu master, and featured cameos from Selena Gomez, Danny Trejo, and David Carradine. The video earned two nominations at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, and the song held the title of the band's highest-charting effort until Sucker debuted at number one in March 2019. A staple of their "Burnin' Up Tour," the track was later certified double platinum by the RIAA in 2019.
