Elena Rybakina (born 17 June 1999) is a Russian-born Kazakhstani tennis player currently ranked world No. 2, nicknamed the "Ice Queen" for her calm on-court demeanor and powerful serve. She switched federations from Russia to Kazakhstan in 2018, and made history as the first Kazakhstani player to win a major and break into the world's top 10. Her breakthrough came in 2020 with a tour-leading five finals, and she has since amassed 13 WTA titles, including major victories at Wimbledon in 2022 and the Australian Open in 2026, as well as the 2025 WTA Finals. A former junior world No. 3, she began in gymnastics and ice skating before switching to tennis at age six, and she plays a powerful, aggressive baseline game.
