Matthew Fitzpatrick (born 1 September 1994) is an English professional golfer from Sheffield who achieved his crowning moment at the 2022 U.S. Open, winning his first major championship at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts—the exact same venue where he had claimed the U.S. Amateur title in 2013. His amateur career was stellar, featuring a win at the 2012 Boys Amateur Championship, the Silver Medal as low amateur at the 2013 Open Championship, and the 2013 U.S. Amateur, which lifted him to the top of the World Amateur Golf Ranking and earned him the Mark H. McCormack Medal.
