Pluribus (TV series)

Pluribus is an acclaimed post-apocalyptic sci-fi series created by Vince Gilligan for Apple TV, set in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It follows novelist Carol Sturka (Rhea Seehorn), one of just 13 people immune to an alien virus that has transformed humanity into a peaceful hive mind called the "Others," who nevertheless seek to assimilate her. Premiering on November 7, 2025, with a second season already ordered, the show's title references the U.S. motto e pluribus unum ("out of many, one"). Critics have lauded Gilligan's writing, Seehorn's performance, and the show's originality and tone, earning it 18 Emmy nominations (including Outstanding Drama Series), a Peabody Award, and Best Actress wins for Seehorn at both the Golden Globes and Critics' Choice Awards. Gilligan, who grew "weary of writing bad guys," conceived the role specifically for Seehorn, and Apple TV secured the project in a 2022 bidding war with a two-season order.
