The Korn Ferry Tour is the official developmental circuit for the PGA Tour, serving as the primary pathway for professional golfers to earn their PGA Tour card since 2019, when it replaced Q-School as the main route. Founded in 1990 by PGA Tour commissioner Deane Beman as the Ben Hogan Tour, it has undergone several name changes, including the Nike Tour (1993–1999), Buy.com Tour (2000–2002), Nationwide Tour (2003–2012), and Web.com Tour (2012–2019) before Korn Ferry took over. While most events are held in the U.S., the tour has expanded internationally, visiting Mexico (1993), Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Panama, Colombia, Chile, Brazil, and the Bahamas. Tournaments follow a standard 72-hole stroke play format with a cut after 36 holes (top 65 and ties), featuring fields of 144–156 players. The ultimate prize is significant: the top 20 finishers on the season's money list earn PGA Tour memberships for the following year, while winners receive 18% of the purse. Players can qualify through various routes, including Q-School, previous money list standings, or Monday open qualifiers.
