Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor (born 14 July 1988) is an Irish mixed martial artist who made history as the first fighter to hold UFC championships in two weight classes simultaneously (Featherweight and Lightweight). His career features record-breaking moments, including a 13-second knockout of José Aldo at UFC 194 and headlining the five highest-selling UFC pay-per-view events, with his 2017 boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr. drawing over 5.3 million buys. McGregor became the world's highest-paid athlete in 2021 with $180 million in earnings, and has expanded into business ventures, including co-owning the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. However, his career has been overshadowed by legal issues; in November 2024, an Irish High Court ruled he assaulted and raped a woman in 2018, ordering him to pay over €248,000 in damages, a verdict he lost an appeal against in July 2025, leading to lost sponsorships. In March 2025, he announced his intention to run as an independent candidate in the Irish presidential election, but withdrew from the race on 14 September 2025.
