Kick-Ass 2 (film)

Kick-Ass 2 is a 2013 black comedy superhero film directed by Jeff Wadlow, based on Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.'s comics, and follows Dave Lizewski/Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) as he joins a vigilante team called "Justice Forever," while Mindy Macready/Hit Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) attempts to leave crime behind for a normal life. After accidentally killing his mother, Chris D'Amico (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) transforms into the villain The Motherfucker, assembling a gang called the Toxic Mega Cunts to wreak revenge on Kick-Ass, leading to brutal confrontations and the deaths of key characters like Colonel Stars and Stripes and Dave's father. Released in August 2013 (UK on the 14th, US on the 16th), the film earned $60.8 million on a $30 million budget despite mixed-to-negative reviews, with Jim Carrey starring in a supporting role. Notably, in January 2024, producer Matthew Vaughn revealed that a secret third film, Stuntnuts: The Movie (directed by Damien Walters), had been greenlit and completed, set for release later that year. The sequel explores themes of heroism, consequence, and the dark side of vigilantism, blending dark humor with violent action.
